Texans for State Parks Nominations for Their 2024 Outstanding Awards Program have been open since December 1st!
Last year, the State Parks System of Texas received the National Award for having the BEST State Park System in the United States. This was due largely to the caliber of individuals that work for The State Park System.
Each year, Texans for State park recognizes outstanding individuals and groups that work diligently to support the best state park system in the country.
The Nomination process is open from December 1st, 2024 until February 15th, 2025. The annual awards will be presented in four categories in each of the six (6) Texas State Parks Regional Areas at our Annual Meeting March 29, 2024 at McKinney State Park.
The four categories for nominations are:
Outstanding Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
Outstanding Staff Member
Outstanding Volunteer
Outstanding Friends Group.
Through coordinated efforts at each state park, a nomination may be submitted by the general public, the State Park Staffs, or the Friends Group members. Before nominating, please check with your local park Superintendent to avoid duplicate nominations.
The web link for submitting nominations is posted below. For the nomination to be considered, the nominations must be submitted in the format provided following the suggested guidelines.
